SEAMUN I — Policies with a Purpose
An intermediate specialized committee for grades 9–12 and university students. Debate alternatives to conviction for personal-use drug possession and the inter-generational impact of substance abuse with 20 delegate seats and 2 chairs.
About this committee
UNODC is one of ten committees at SEAMUN I, a student-led, non-profit Model UN conference focused on global healthcare and sustainability. 100% of surplus is donated to the Thai Red Cross Society.
What is UNODC?
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime leads the UN response to illicit drugs, transnational organized crime, and related justice issues. At SEAMUN I, delegates negotiate evidence-based drug policy and responses to the social impact of addiction.

Conference
SEAMUN I 2027 — January 16–17 at D-PREP International School Secondary Campus (Bang Phli, Samut Prakan). Open to grades 7–12 and university students.
Fees
Delegates: 2,500 THB. Chairs: 800 THB. Photographers & advisors: 0 THB. Conference capacity: 200 delegates, up to 60 staff.

The Question of Policy Analysis of Alternatives to Conviction and Punishment for Drug Posession for Personal Use
IntermediateDelegates examine alternatives to criminal conviction for personal-use drug possession— balancing public health, justice systems, and international drug-control frameworks. Research position papers and follow procedure once the chair report and ROP are published.
The Question of Addressing the Inter-generational Impact of Substance Abuse and Addiction
IntermediateDebate how addiction and substance abuse affect families across generations—and what prevention, treatment, and social-support policies can interrupt that cycle.
